Here are some guidelines to help as you prepare your items for the sale. Click here to see what is acceptable and not acceptable for the sale.

Supplies Needed

HANGERS – in order to protect your clothing items we only accept plastic hangers. Find plastic hangers at Wal-Mart, Target, Dollar Stores. Retail plastic hangers are acceptable too.

STRING TAGS – Avery White Marking Tags Strung (size 1.75 x 1.093 inches) are required on each item to affix our barcode labels to. You can find these at Wal-Mart, office supply stores, the Rhea Lana Store or large quantities may be purchased from Amazon.

You’ll also need re-sealable bags (for shoes, small toys, etc…), masking tape, scotch tape, sharpie, and safety pins. For large quantities of quality safety pins we recommend ordering from Cleaners Supply .

If you would like to print your barcodes at home you’ll need adhesive address labels size 1” X 2 5/8” (30 up). We recommend ordering from Amazon Here. Please note: all labels printed at home MUST be printed in color.

Clothes

The better they look, the better they sell! We accept Infant, Children's, Junior and Maternity Clothing.

For our Spring events, we do not accept winter clothing such as winter coats, snow boots, heavy sweaters, Christmas wear, etc. Please save these items for our Fall events.

For our Fall and Back-to-School events, we do not accept summer clothes such as shorts, tank-tops, sandals, etc. Please save these items for our Spring events.

Please take time to:

1) Check for stains, broken zippers, torn hemlines, missing buttons, etc. We will be double checking at the store and will not receive any item that is not in excellent condition.

2) Use Plastic Hangers only. We do not accept clothes on metal hangers into the sale. This makes shopping more pleasant for everyone. Clothes tend to fall off metal hangers. Additionally, metal hangers can snag on and damage clothing.

3) Group items together so that they will equal a value of at least $3.00. Infant sleeping gowns or onesies and children's pajamas are great to group together as a set of 2 or 3. They may be pinned together on one hanger.

4) Pin all pants to a hanger. Pants that are folded over on a hanger tend to end up on the floor.

Shoes

Please only bring your like-new shoes. Please do not attach the string tag or label to the ziploc bag.

Bedding

It is best to package a bedding set together in a clear plastic bag. Seal the bag with clear packing tape and pin the string tag to the outside of the bag. It also helps to write your consignor number and price on the Ziploc bag with a Sharpie in the case that the tag comes off during the sale. Shoppers also like to see a list of all the items included in the set.

Blankets

Hang and pin blankets over hangers so that shoppers can see them. If they are small receiving blankets, group 2 or 3 together in a Ziploc bag and seal with clear plastic tape. Safety pin the tag to the Ziploc bag. It helps to write your consignor number and price on the Ziploc bag with a Sharpie in case that the string tag comes off during the sale.

Loose Items

Bottles, bibs, rattles, socks, bows, etc group together appropriately in Ziploc bags. Seal with clear packing tape. Pin tag to Ziploc bag. It helps to write your consignor number and price on the Ziploc bag in case the string tag comes off during the sale.

Toys, Furniture, Equipment

We accept children's furniture at all sales.

All toys, furniture and equipment must be in like-new condition, clean and in working order (batteries included.) Pin (or affix using clear packing tape) a string tag in a visible location. Small parts must be bagged and attached to the main part very securely. Boxed games and puzzles should be taped closed. Small toys should be grouped by theme and sealed with packing tape in a ziploc bag with the tag pinned or taped to the outside of the bag. Please write your consignor number and price on the ziploc bag with a Sharpie in case the tag comes off.

Large Little Tikes and Step 2 Toys and Furniture, train tables and toy storage units are in high demand! When tagging large items it is best to also attach a piece of masking tape to the item with your consignor information. This will enable us to sell your item even if the tag comes off!

Toy recall information - Due to the high number of toy recalls during the past year, we will be inspecting toys very carefully. We reserve the right to refuse or remove from the sale any toy that we think might have been recalled. To help us, please do not bring any toys that have been subject to a recall. To check if any of your items are subject to a recall, please use our Recall Finder or visit the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Books

Kids, maternity and parenting books in great condition are in high demand. Tape a string tag inside the front cover of the book. Pleased do not stick labels directly onto books (or any other item). Books meeting our minimum price point of $4 may be sold individually. Other books may be sold in groups: similar themed books may be grouped together on a ziploc bag. Books must be in excellent condition.

Cribs

We have VERY strict requirements regarding cribs. Please review these guidelines and check the manufacture date on your crib before bringing it to the store.


~Manufactured before June, 2011: May NOT be consigned. We will not be accepting ANY cribs manufactured before June 2011.


~Manufactured after June 28, 2011: May be consigned if it has not been subject to a recall.

Car Seats

Your car seat must have been manufactured within the past five years or not be within 1 year of the expiration date listed on the manufacturer's sticker. It must not be subject to recall or have been in an accident. You may use our Recall Finder or www.carseat.org to check if your car seat has been subject to a recall. All seat covers and straps must be thoroughly cleaned. You will be asked to sign a car seat disclosure form. Car seats will be closely inspected for safety reasons.
